The Bloody Mary is one of the most well-known cocktails in the world, renowned for its ability to perk up even the most groggy of mornings. Its origins are unclear, although they most likely date back to the mid-1930s to Fernand “Pete” Petiot, a bartender at the St. Regis hotel in New York City’s King Cole Bar.
History
The name “Bloody Mary” is linked to a variety of historical persons, including Queen Mary I of England (1516-1558), who was dubbed “Bloody Mary” in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs for seeking to re-establish the Catholic Church in England, and fictional women from folklore.

The original Bloody Mary had seven ingredients: vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, celery salt, Tabasco, and lemon juice. We can, however, make a stimulating, alcohol-free cocktail without using vodka.

Ingredients
⁃ 120 ml tomato juice
⁃ 1 tablespoon lemon juice
⁃ 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
⁃ 1/4 teaspoon herb salt
⁃ 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
⁃ 2 ice cubes

Preparation

• Serve in an appropriate glass, garnishing with a celery stick and a wedge of lemon.
