SA: Tell us something about yourself

I am Calsmart. A model, stylist, designer and a co-founder of the up and coming brand, ALIENATION. I was born and brought up in Ghana. I am a creative, smart, intelligent, self-motivated, and a disciplined person. I love art, music, and learning new things.

SA: What is one professional goal you have for yourself?

SA: What is the longest photo shoot you’ve ever done?

I had a shoot with Dmanoo early 2021.

SA: What kind of modeling are you aiming for?

Editorial modeling

SA: Are there any types of modeling you wish to avoid?

Gigs that would require me being nude.

SA: Do you work for a modeling agency?

I’m currently not working for any agency

SA: What was your most challenging photoshoot to date?

None I can think of.

SA: Who is your favorite model and why?

I really can’t point out one

SA: How do you prepare for a new photoshoot?

So, I write down my schedule, have a good sleep the night before the shoot to get my “photo face”ready, learn a few tricks and poses., and that’s it

SA: How do you respond to both constructive and unfavorable criticism?

I am someone that loves to be criticized, because in a way that’s how I get better at what I do.

SA: Is there competition in the model industry? What do you think about the competition in this industry, and the relationships models have with each other?

Models are very amicable in social situations but the competitiveness shows itself; based on my professional experiences where you are yet to be chosen for a show or a gig.

SA: On a scale of 1 to 10, rate your work ethic.

It’s a 10

SA: Do You Believe That Networking Plays An Important Role In This Industry? If yes, why?

YES!!! Networking is very important in the industry. Models benefit from networking in the fashion industry because it helps us acquire more knowledge, ideas and skills. It also builds connection for more opportunities in our career paths.

SA: Who are your favorite designers?

DManoo and Kofimaako, you should check them out

SA: What are your favorite brands?

Prada, Nike, Gucci, Versace, D&G, YSL, Alienationgh and many others

SA: Do you think dressing sense matters a lot?

Yes it does matter, a lot!!

SA: At the beginning of your modeling career, which supermodel did you admire?

Alton Mason and Ottawa Kwame

SA: What activities or pastimes do you pursue besides modeling?

I go skating, paint, sketch outfits, and create contents.

SA: Do you have any secret talent?

I do a lil bit of art and dancing. I am a good actor too.

SA: What are your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Became a model” and why.

I only have one, I wish somebody would have told me “it’s not as easy as it looks”

SA: What goes through you mind when you are in front of the camera?

“What is the photographer seeing?”

SA: Give one model-related myth that needs to be cleared up.

“The believe that male models with good fashion sense are gay”

SA: How would you describe your personal style, Where do you find your inspiration?

I am more into street and the classy vintage looks

SA: Was modeling something you always wanted to do, or did it just happen?

It has been something I have always wanted to do
