Some women walk into a chaotic room and somehow set the temperature. “JEFFREYNESS” has built its newest capsule for her.
The collection is called “MAGNIV”, after the Hebrew slang word (מגניב) for “cool” or “awesome.” It follows two well-received seasons from Creative Director Jeffrey Boamah: the Yuletide Holiday ’23 collection, “HENEWAA,” and the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, “BOHE-NIAN.”
MAGNIV starts from a simple observation. In the movies, we think superheroes are cool because of their unique abilities. The collection takes that logic into everyday life, where the “ability” is an attitude: staying fun, detached and self-possessed while everything around you feels chaotic.
The heroine here isn’t caped or costumed. She is off-duty and unbothered, and her style is the evidence. This is a capsule of five designs, each one representing a different kind of “cool” woman.
A Designer Who Builds Around a Story
MAGNIV fits the way Boamah has always worked. HENEWAA told the story of a queen who leaves her royal surroundings for self-discovery, with every garment a chapter in that journey. BOHE-NIAN, a coinage from “Bohemian” and “Ghanaian,” fused free-spirited silhouettes with Ghanaian artistry through flowy fabrics, linen, tie-dye and batik.
The three collections share a narrative-first approach and a focus on the versatile, modern woman. Each season, the brand picks a character or a mood and builds the wardrobe around it. HENEWAA was regal and exploratory, BOHE-NIAN carefree and expressive. MAGNIV is composed, wry and quietly confident.
Five Designs, Five Kinds of Cool
Fashion often treats “cool” as something loud. MAGNIV treats it as composure, the ease of someone who doesn’t need to prove anything. The superhero framing gives that idea a playful entry point, and the five-piece format keeps the message tight.
