Mista Myles Opens Up About Love, Growth & His Milestone Collaboration with Shatta Wale

Ghanaian Afrobeats and Afropop star Mista Myles connects with OUTTAH for an exclusive conversation about the inspiration behind his buzzing single BODY and its game-changing remix with Shatta Wale. In this interview, he opens up about vulnerability in music, artistic growth, and his mission to take the Ghanaian sound to the global stage.

OUTTAH: For those who may not be familiar with Mista Myles, tell us about yourself

MM: My name is Mista Myles. I’m a Ghanaian Afrobeats and Afropop artist, singer, and songwriter signed to Mimlife Records. I’ve been making music since around 2014, and my sound is largely inspired by real-life experiences, love, emotions, and the stories of people around me.

I’m known for blending smooth melodies with honest, relatable lyrics. Some of my popular songs include African Girl, Body, Sober, and Camavinga. Most recently, I released a remix of Body featuring Shatta Wale. My main goal is to connect with listeners through vulnerability, good vibes, and an authentic African sound, while putting Ghanaian music on a bigger global stage.

OUTTAH: BODY has become one of your most talked-about records. What originally inspired the song?

MM: “BODY was inspired by intimacy, vulnerability, and real connection. It’s not just about physical attraction; it’s about how love, touch, and closeness can communicate emotions that words sometimes can’t. With this record, I wanted to express the feeling of being deeply drawn to someone and appreciating them fully inside and out.”

OUTTAH: At what point did you feel the song deserved a remix with a legend like Shatta Wale?

MM: Truly, seeing how people connected with the original record, my team and I knew the song had bigger potential. For me, Shatta Wale represents dominance, confidence, and authenticity. I felt his energy would elevate the record and introduce it to an even wider audience, both locally and internationally. Shoutout to the Dancehall King “paa paa paa paa!”

OUTTAH: How did the collaboration with Shatta Wale come together?

MM: It was completely organic. We connected in the studio, the vibe was right, and once he heard the song, he connected with it instantly. Shatta doesn’t jump on records unless he truly feels them, so for him to be on BODY was a huge honor and a major validation for me as an artist. It’s a milestone in my career that I’m very proud of. Shoutout to K9 and the rest of the team for making this possible.

OUTTAH: What did Shatta Wale bring to the record that you feel transformed it?

MM: For me, he brought that fearless dancehall confidence and global star presence. His delivery, tone, and energy gave the song a new layer, more edge, more reach, and more attitude. It transformed BODY from a love record into a cross-genre anthem for everyone.

OUTTAH: How important was it for you to feature a Dancehall King on an Afrobeats-leaning record?

MM: It was a very intentional move. Ghanaian music is at its strongest when genres collaborate, and Afrobeats and Dancehall naturally connect. Having Shatta Wale on the record demonstrates unity, versatility, and the global power of the Ghanaian sound, something the world isn’t fully ready for.

OUTTAH: What has the response from fans been like since the remix dropped?

MM: The response has been amazing. I’ve seen new fans coming in from Shatta’s fanbase, radio support has increased, DJs have picked it up heavily, and people really connected with the vibe. It opened new doors for me and gave the song a second life. I’m definitely looking forward to the next phase of the record… shushhh, fingers crossed!

OUTTAH: As an artist signed to Mimlife Records, how does this collaboration reflect your growth?

MM: For me, it shows growth, consistency, and belief. Collaborating with a legend like Shatta Wale reassures me that I’m on the right path. It motivates me to keep raising my standards, both musically and professionally.

OUTTAH: What does BODY represent in this chapter of your career?

MM: BODY represents confidence, maturity, and my readiness for bigger stages. It’s a statement record that shows I can hold my own, collaborate with legends, and still stay true to my sound.

OUTTAH: What can fans expect next from Mista Myles after this powerful collaboration?

MM: Definitely more music, bigger collaborations, and deeper storytelling. BODY is just the beginning. I’m focused on building a strong catalog and taking the Ghanaian sound to global audiences.

OUTTAH: How can fans find Mista Myles on social media?
