Kwasi Paul, the Ghanaian-American label founded by Samuel “Sam” Boakye, has unveiled Keepsakes – its Spring 2026 collection “built from memory”. Described by the designer as a deeply personal offering, the line conjures “fragments of childhood, quiet nostalgia, and the objects we hold on to.” In the campaign imagery, models in softly structured suiting interact with playful props (a giant childlike statue, for example) that underscore the collection’s tale-like atmosphere. As Pause Magazine notes, Keepsakes continues Kwasi Paul’s signature approach of blending contemporary menswear with Ghanaian heritage craft.

Made entirely in Ghana, Keepsakes foregrounds the rich textile traditions of the region. The label remains committed to local production and materials – especially handwoven fabrics like fugu cloth – repurposed into modern silhouettes. Behind-the-scenes coverage confirms Boakye’s design ethos: he draws on his mother’s style sensibilities (learned from her church and everyday wear) to create “exquisitely tailored” pieces. The collection’s ready-to-wear line continues to focus on “timeless, tailored garments” with hand-woven textures and refined embroidery, spotlighting the craft of Ghanaian women weavers.

At its heart, Keepsakes is about storytelling and nostalgia. Boakye imagines clothes as living heirlooms: where crisp tailoring threads through a “folkloric imagination” and rekindles a childlike spirit. This reflects a larger trend in fashion; designers are increasingly mining personal and cultural memory for inspiration. As one analysis observes, fashion today “celebrates cultural continuity while keeping traditions alive in a fresh, global context”. Likewise, marketing experts note that in recent seasons consumers aren’t just chasing vintage looks, but the “comfort, identity, and emotional resonance that comes with nostalgia”. Keepsakes exemplifies this: it marries serious craft and structure with playful references (a carved wooden statue, reference to Ghanaian folklore) to evoke both lineage and whimsy.

The Keepsakes collection, teased via Kwasi Paul’s social media and a private pre-launch was on 19 March 2026. Shot in Ghana by photographer G. Sarkodee and directed by filmmaker Boseman Adjaham, the campaign visual narrative is brought to life by a creative team including stylist Dharren (“Set design and lead stylist: @dharrren”), stylist Kelii Morgan, and assistant stylist Iron the World. In sum, Kwasi Paul’s Spring ’26 Keepsakes line offers a textured bridge between past and present; a collection of memories made wearable.
