Each year, Mother’s Day reminds us of the incredible women who quietly shape lives through love, sacrifice, and strength. In this year’s special edition, Glitz Magazine sat down with celebrated Ghanaian actress, TV host, and beauty entrepreneur, Sika Osei, to talk about her newest and most personal role yet—motherhood. Known for her poise, style, and authenticity, Sika shares a moving and honest account of her transition into motherhood, the highs and lows, and how it has reshaped her world.
“Motherhood has been… transformational.”

When asked to describe motherhood in one word, Sika simply said, “Transformational.” From the moment her daughter arrived, everything changed—emotionally, physically, and mentally. She opened up about the deep love that brought her to tears and the sleepless nights that tested her strength.
An unexpected challenge came right after delivery when she was diagnosed with preeclampsia, a serious condition marked by high blood pressure. “My blood pressure shot up to 170/100,” she revealed, calling it one of the scariest moments of her life. It was a wake-up call, one that reminded her how unpredictable and intense the postpartum journey can be.
From Actress to Mum

Far from slowing her down, motherhood has ignited a new fire in Sika’s career. She spoke about how being a mother has brought more focus and purpose to her work: “There’s a new drive to succeed, to provide for my daughter, and to be an example of balance and passion.”
Yet, she also acknowledged how motherhood has changed how the industry sees her. Some doors have opened, others have quietly closed—but Sika is embracing her evolved brand with grace. “Mothers shouldn’t feel pressured to lose themselves. The world will adjust.”
A Day in the Life of Sika

Sika’s new routine starts when her baby wakes up around 6:30 am. With her mum’s support, she manages her daughter’s morning routine and squeezes in work during nap times. Evenings are for baby cuddles and bedtime by 8 pm, giving her a little “me-time” before she turns in herself.
When asked how she balances her star persona with motherhood, Sika shared, “The glam version of me only exists in front of the camera. At home, I’m just Sika—barefaced and grounded.” She’s found peace in separating the two worlds, a choice she made early in her career to protect her well-being.
Hidden Talents

Even as a mum, Sika still finds ways to indulge. Her go-to pleasures? “TikTok and Korean dramas. Thou shall not judge, lol.” She also revealed two surprising hobbies: she enjoys cleaning and has a growing interest in fashion styling—something she’s been quietly doing for friends and family with plans to take it seriously in the future.
A Mother’s Dream

Sika hopes to raise her daughter in a God-fearing, loving, and creative environment—one filled with laughter, respect, and the freedom to express herself. “I want her to have a memorable childhood, just like I did,” she said. When asked how she hopes her daughter will one day describe her, Sika chose: “Intentional, Dependable, and God-Fearing.”
A New Appreciation for Her Own Mother

Now that she’s a mother herself, Sika feels a deeper connection to her own mum. “I understand now why mothers are called superwomen. I’m proud to be part of this sisterhood—life makers, destiny shapers, and nation builders.”
Words to Her Younger Self

Looking back, Sika would tell her younger self: “Trust the timing of your life. God is in control.” Every challenge, she believes, has prepared her for this season of motherhood, and she now moves through life with more confidence and clarity.
