Interview With Shantel Percy

Shantel Percy is a part-time model who talks about her experience thus far in the business. Let’s get started.

Tell us about yourself: What inspired you to pursue a career as a model? What makes you want to learn more about this?

Shantel is a model and a businesswoman. I specialize in photo modeling and commercials when it comes to modeling. The people around me basically inspired me. I was privileged to have good company and they really inspired me to go for modeling if that’s what I want. When I see people making a fortune from the modeling industry it drives me to learn more each day.

Why would you think you’re fit to be a model?

I believe I possess all the qualities of a model. I have the height, face and whatever it takes to be a model

Tell me about your biggest modeling accomplishment.

Errrm….My first television commercial with Perk Biscuits

Have you ever worked as a runway model?

Yes. At the beginning of my modeling career but I stopped at a point.

Are there any forms of modeling that you want to stay away from?

Runway modeling. It drains me

What kind of modeling would you like to do?

Photo modeling and TV commercials

What types of clothes have you modeled before?

I have done bikini modeling and regular outing dresses

Would you like to model any kind of clothing at all?

Not at all. I prefer to model for elegant and decent clothing

What brands have you worked with in the past?

I have worked with Darling hair and Perk biscuits.

Would you travel? Work full-time, part time?

I would say yes. I would also prefer to work part-time because I have other commitments.

Tell us about your education: Have you attended fashion modeling courses or training that informs your modeling practice?

No I haven’t taken any course in fashion before. I normally read online and learn from colleagues in the same field.

What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progress in this field?

My goals are to be noticed by big brands such as Coca-Cola and luxury brands such as Chanel.

What brands have you previously worked with?

Dia couture, Adepa clothing

Which photo in your portfolio is your favorite? Why?

I don’t think I’ve decided on a favorite. A photo for a luxury brand, such as Chanel, would be one of my favorites.

Can you tell us about a modeling challenge you faced?

After providing services, I was not paid. That was the only problem I had to deal with.

How do you deal with criticism?

I simply ignore them. I don’t pay attention to it. However, some comments are constructive; you just need to recognize which ones to pay attention to and which to dismiss.

What are your model professional goals for the next five years?

I would like to be recognized by big brands and be influential in the modeling industry in the next five years.
