As Mulawwan introduces its 2026 Eid Edit, a chapter of the “The Days I Read About in Books” Spring/Summer collection; key pieces blend West and North African motifs into festive modest wear. Designer descriptions highlight the use of regional fabrics and rich textures: for example, the HANAN dress is woven from Ghanaian Kente and Igbo Ikaki textiles, while Roman abayas use plush velvet and Egyptian-inspired embroidery.
Below we spotlight each standout piece, with design notes and styling options.
Bedazzled

Bedazzled: A show-stopping set layered in crystals and pearls, Bedazzled lives up to its name. Mulawwan calls it “an unapologetic statement in texture,” made on a sheer tulle canvas “drenched in hand-placed pearls and stones, like constellations mapped across the body”. By day it sparkles; by night it blings. A chantilly lace–lined velvet underlay gives depth and contrast. The design comes in two silhouette choices; a top-and-skirt set with a long dramatic veil, or a loose flowing dress and can be styled with the label’s signature Crown Hat or worn without it.
Grapes

Grapes: A bold kaftan ensemble in contrasting hues, GRAPES is “inspired by the duality of grapes”. It pairs a rich wine-red brocade loose kaftan with pistachio-green pleated trousers (“wine + pistachio – two distinct hues, harmonized into one”). The set comes with Mulawwan’s Iyalode headpiece by default; shoppers can choose to include or omit the matching embroidered headpiece at checkout. GRAPES reflects its high-quality fabrics and artisanal craft.
Hanan

Hanan: This drama-free dress fuses Nigerian and Ghanaian tradition: it’s cut from handwoven Ghana Kente (in bright yellow) and Igbo Ikaki (in deep red) fabrics. The silhouette drapes elegantly across the shoulders with a sculptural fold and is finished with a single hanging tassel for subtle flair. Buyers can choose the look with or without a matching scarf, and even pick between the yellow or red colorway at checkout.
Roman

Roman: A traditional abayya reimagined in luxury black velvet, Roman features “Egyptian embroidery” along its front. It’s presented with the ornate Iyalode headpiece as shown, but customers can order it with or without this headpiece for versatility.
Roman II

Roman II: The sequel to Roman, this piece swaps black for soft lavender silk and layers on delicate chantilly lace. Described as “a lavender silk abayya drenched in chantilly,” Roman II comes with an optional long chantilly veil for extra romance. (It can also be paired with the Iyalode headpiece if desired.) Clients choose to add or omit the chantilly veil as they like.
Saqi Boho

Saqi Boho: This look centers on Mulawwan’s signature ombré Saqi print in a “sun-inspired” colorway. The main piece is a loose, layered poncho (jumper style) designed to drape freely. It’s sold either alone or as a set; for example, customers can add matching wide-leg pants, a traditional boubou, a Saqi-colored veil, or even a handwoven inner dress to create a head‑to‑toe look. Because each Saqi Boho is locally hand-dyed, no two are exactly alike.
Each of these key pieces fuses craftsmanship with cultural motifs; from Ghana Kente and Egyptian brocades to artisanal local dye work, making them perfect for Eid festivities and beyond.
