Class, distinction, and perfection are just a few of the words that come to mind when thinking of perfect fitting, and let’s be honest, suits are objectively brilliant to wear. They’re versatile, smart, flattering on almost any body type, and they’ve got a lot of pockets.
We believe that a man cannot be considered a gentleman if he does not know how to dress in a suit. There are a few unsaid guidelines to follow when it comes to looking good in a suit, rocking a suit, or even tactical gear.
Rule #1

Always leave the bottom/last button open. Your suit’s last button is purely for aesthetic purposes. Leaving the bottom button of your jacket open will ensure the proper fit. You don’t need to bother with it. Always keep it open.
Rule #2

When seated, make sure your socks are long enough to cover your skin. Unless you want to wear no-show socks with your suit, choose mid-calf or over-calf socks. Socks should always be worn to keep your legs warm. The socks can’t be white, either. Socks in bold tones are the simplest way to dabble in thoughtful accessorizing. After colored solids, stripes, polka dots, and argylem are safe bets, but when it comes to black tie, color can look out of place, so stick to black.
Rule #3

An ‘A’ for matching shoes and belts. The color of your shoe should match the color of your trouser belt. And if you’re wearing a leather wristwatch, make sure they’re all the same color; a black belt on a brown shoe would appear odd.
Rule #4

Don’t wear a belt if you’re wearing braces or suspenders. Braces, like belts, are designed to keep your pants up, therefore if you wear both at the same time, one of them is obviously redundant. Belts aren’t necessary if you’re wearing suspenders. It’s pointless to wear both.
Rule #5

While sitting, unfasten the buttons. This is an absolute must-have. If you don’t want to ruin your suit, keep this in mind. Alternatively, you might look like a stuffed potato.
Rule #6

Baggy trousers are a no-no. Just over the top of your shoe, your pant should be well-placed. Don’t go too far or too close, or your outfit will be ruined.
Rule #7

The color of your shoes should always match the color of your outfit. It’s fine to mix and match a little, but avoid having too much color contrast. Wearing a complementary color of shoe and suit is very significant, and it should be done in a fashionable manner. Wearing a black shoe with a brown jacket may have wrecked your day before it even started.
Rule #8

When it comes to accessories, don’t go overboard. Allow your suit to speak for you if you’re aiming to appear clean and classy. Less is more when it comes to getting dressed.
Rule #9

The knots in your ties should be of a reasonable size. In this case, as well, size matters. Anything that is too enormous is unsettling, and anything that is too small fails to make an impression.
Rule #10

Button the shirt at the top. While you’re at it, do ensure that you’re not choking yourself out. In case you are, please change the shirt.
